Pelton Turbine PLTPh Monitoring System Using ESP32 Node MCU Based on Internet of Things (IoT)
Abstract
The monitoring system based on the Internet of Things plays an important role in
helping and simplifying human work in monitoring PLTPh. In this study, a current
and voltage monitoring tool for PLTPh based on the Internet of Things (IoT) was
developed. This system is designed as a remote monitoring solution. This
monitoring system is equipped with Arduino Uno and NodeMCU installed and also
includes the program. The ACS712 sensor is used as an input sensor that can
measure the voltage and current values on the PLTPH, IR Sensor is used to measure
the generator rotation speed in RPM units, YF0s210 waterflow sensor is used to
measure the discharge of water that comes out and the sensor readings are received
by Arduino Uno in the form of data. Monitoring remote sensor readings by a web
server by connecting the internet to the NodeMCU ESP 32 as a data receiver from
Arduino to a smartphone. Based on the test results, the monitoring system tool can
be accessed using a cellphone / laptop using a web server. From the test results
obtained the highest voltage value with a variation of DC lamp load obtained the
result of 11.95 V, the highest current value of the variation of dc lamp load obtained
the result of 0.13 A, the highest power value at each load is 1.36 watts, water
discharge is 2 L/s, and the highest generator rotation at each load is 1295 Rpm.
