    Community Waste Management in Bahorok Orangutan Tourism Area, Bukit Lawang and SCES (Socio Cultural Ecosystem Services): Perceptions of Local Tourists

    Abstract
    Socio Cultural Ecosystem Services (SCES) is a form of community response to the benefits provided by nature to humans to fulfill their needs. Waste management is a form of effort made to minimize the accumulation of waste and maintain environmental cleanliness. The implementation of these two actions is a form of community awareness of the environment of the Bahorok Orang Utan Tourism area as sustainable tourism. This study aims to see the relationship between SCES and waste management in Bahorok Orang Utan Tourism. The population in the study is local tourists who have visited Bahorok Orang Utan Tourism and who use social media. Through sample calculation using the Isaac and Michael table, it is known that the number of samples is 272 respondents. This study uses quantitative research methods with spearman correlation data analysis techniques, Independent samples test and ANOVA. The results showed that there is an influential samples between SCES and waste management in Bahorok Orang Utan Tourism and local tourists perceive that SCES and waste management in Bahorok Orang Utan Tourism are effective and good so that they have a positive impact on the tourist area, with a strong category. SCES carried out by the community in Bahorok Orang Utan Tourism is in the form of provisioning, cultural, regulating, and supporting. The community also conducts waste management using the 3R principles, namely Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. SCES and waste management are forms of pro- environmental actions taken because of the values, belief and norms of the community in protecting and maintaining tourism areas.
