According to WHO, non-communicable diseases are highly increasing from time to time, Until now, they have become a global and national concern. This is also supported by the SDGs target which will reduce by up to a third premature deaths due to non-communicable diseases, through prevention and treatment. It also focuses on issues of public nutritional health and the national health system. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of fat, sodium and alcohol consumption habits in men aged 25-55 years on the incidence of hypertension. This type of research is quantitative with a cross-sectional design carried out from October 2023 to April 2024 in the North Tapanuli Regency using the semi-quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) technique. The population in this study was 2,564 people with a sample size of 103 respondents. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using univariate and bivariate. The results showed that the proportion of respondents having hypertension was 49.5%. Then the results of the bivariate test analysis showed that excessive fat consumption was a risk factor for the incidence of hypertension in men aged 25-55 years, where with a Prevalence Ratio (PR) value of 1.059 > 1, excessive sodium consumption was a risk factor for the incidence of hypertension in men aged 25-55 years old where with a Prevalence Ratio (PR) value of 1.012 > 1 and excessive alcohol consumption is a risk factor for the incidence of hypertension in men aged 25-55 years where with a Prevalence Ratio (PR) value of 1.898 > 1. Fat consumption variabels, sodium and alcohol are risk factors for hypertension. Therefore, the utilization of the Integrated Development Posts of Non-Comunicable Deases inthis area is carried out routinely. Then the convenience that can be reached by the community becomes the main priority.
