Today's business world faces new challenges, companies must have competent human resources and have high performance to achieve success in the organization. One of the factors for achieving company success is influenced by employee performance. Quality employee performance will provide a positive influence and benefits for the company. Factors that affect employee performance are employee engagement and workload.
This study aims to analyze how employee engagement and workload influence employee performance in the K3 (occupational safety and health) Division at PT. Salim Ivomas Pratama Lubuk Pakam. The influence of employee engagement and workload will be analyzed partially and simultaneously on employee performance.
The form of research used in the study is quantitative research with an associative approach. Sampling was carried out through a saturated sampling technique with 45 respondents as a sample. Primary data in this study were obtained by distributing questionnaires directly, interviews and observations, while secondary data were obtained through literature studies. The research methods used are normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multiple linear regression test, hypothesis test, and determination coefficient test.
The results of the study indicate that the employee engagement (X1) and workload (X2) variables have a significant effect on employee performance and all independent variables simultaneously affect employee performance. The determinant coefficient test shows that there is a close relationship between employee engagement (X1) and workload (X2) on employee performance with an R value of 0.843. Through the adjusted R square value, it is also known that the employee engagement (X1) and workload (X2) variables contribute 69.7% to the employee performance variable while the remaining 30.3% is influenced by other variables not discussed in this study.
