Dampak Celebrity Worship K-Pop terhadap Kesejahteraan Psikologis Remaja Perempuan di Komunitas Engene Medan

Abstract

The growing Korean Wave phenomenon has had a major impact on the social life of teenagers, especially among K-Pop fans. One form of attachment that has emerged is Celebrity Worship, which is an excessive interest in idols that can affect an individual's psychological well-being. This study aims to determine how much impact K-Pop Celebrity Worship has on the Psychological Well-being of Female Teenagers in the Engene Medan Community. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression analysis method. The research sample consisted of 60 respondents who were members of the Engene Medan Community. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the T test to see the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of the analysis showed that there was a positive and significant impact between Celebrity Worship on the Psychological Well-being of female teenagers in the Engene Medan community. The t-count value > t-table (4.114 > 2.001) and the significance value t < 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05), which indicates that the higher the level of Celebrity Worship, the higher the level of psychological well-being felt by female adolescents in the community. The results of the simple linear regression analysis show that Y = 30.536 + 0.781X which means a = 30.536 and b = 0.781 which are positive. The results of the determination coefficient (R-square) test are 0.226 which indicates that the Celebrity Worship variable contributes 22.6% to Psychological Well-being, while 77.4% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
