    Abstract
Soil salinity is one of the main limiting factors in plant growth, especially in alluvial land in coastal areas and tidal swamps. This study aims to analyze the effect of salinity levels and physical properties of alluvial soil on the growth of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) in Kapuas Regency. The study was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with five salinity level treatments and four replications. The parameters observed included soil salinity, soil texture, organic matter, soil mass density, soil particle density, porosity, field capacity, soil permeability, and wet weight and dry weight of sweet corn plants. The results showed that increasing salinity caused changes in the physical properties of alluvial soil, such as increasing soil mass density and decreasing organic matter content, field capacity water content, soil permeability and soil porosity. Salinity also had a negative impact on the generative growth of sweet corn plants. Therefore, land management efforts with salt washing techniques and increasing soil organic matter need to be implemented to improve the sustainability of cultivation on alluvial land.
