D: The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Square of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) is an initiative aimed at supporting and developing the MSME sector within the USU environment for the city of Medan. This plan is designed to serve as a shopping center, training facility, and MSME empowerment hub, while also acting as a platform for collaboration between academics, students, and local UMKM actors. The USU UMKM Square will accommodate all UMKM activities, requiring a Detailed Engineering Design (DED) that will serve as the foundational reference for the construction of the USU MSME Square building. This facility is intended to be utilized by a wide range of businesses, including street vendors, in order to create a well-organized environment. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this design is to provide facilities that support the development of UMKM in Medan City by preparing a well-thought-out planning concept through a focused Detailed Engineering Design (DED). This will support commercial activities, education, talent development, and serve the broader community. METHOD: The methodology employed in this study is descriptive qualitative, utilizing observation, case studies, and related themes. RESULTS: The design will result in several key concepts to support and maximize the development of UMKM, including the basic concept, space program concept, site planning concept, green space concept, mass and facade concept, as well as structural and utility concepts. CONCLUSION: It is expected that the planned concepts will transform the UMKM Square building into a space where users who wish to shop can do so, and where home-based or general entrepreneurs can display their products. This will be achieved while taking into account environmental interests, comfort, and utility for the community.en_US
