Pengaruh Pola Asuh terhadap Kemandirian Anak di Panti Asuhan Putri Aisyiyah Kota Medan
The Influence of Parenting Style on Children's Independence at Puteri Aisyiyah Orphanage, Medan
Abstract
The parenting pattern in orphanages plays a crucial role in supporting the development of children's independence. The application of a balanced parenting style, which provides the freedom to develop independently while maintaining clear boundaries, is highly necessary. This study aims to identify the influence of parenting style on the independence of children at the Puteri Aisyiyah Orphanage in Medan City. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a correlation analysis method. The study sample consists of 39 girls residing at the Puteri Aisyiyah Orphanage in Medan City, selected using the total sampling method. Data were obtained through questionnaires, and the feasibility of the instrument was tested by examining validity, reliability, and data normality. Hypothesis testing was conducted using simple linear regression analysis with a partial t-test. The results of the analysis indicate that parenting style has a positive and significant influence on children's independence, with a t-value of 23.154, which is greater than the t-table value of 2.026192. This result signifies that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, with a significance value of t < 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05). The resulting regression equation is Y = -2.140 + 1.099X, which means that improvements in parenting style contribute positively to the increase in children's independence. The coefficient of determination (R Square) test results show a value of 0.935 or 93.5%, indicating that parenting style explains 93.5% of children's independence, while the remaining 6.5% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.
