One of the crucial factors in building structure planning is designing the structure to withstand seismic forces. One method used is the moment-resisting frame system. This study aims to investigate the effect of using Ordinary Moment-Resisting Frame (OMRF), Intermediate Moment-Resisting Frame (IMRF), and Special Moment-Resisting Frame (SMRF) on building structures. The analysis is conducted on columns, beams, and joints in three different types. The analysis is performed in three different locations: Pontianak, Makassar, and Banten. The results show that all three methods are safe since the inter-story drift and P-Delta values do not exceed the allowed limits, and the buildings are also ductile as they meet the Strong Column Weak Beam (SCWB) requirement. However, the reinforcement requirement for SMRF is significantly higher compared to OMRF and IMRF. This study provides valuable information on the comparison of the three methods, which can serve as a reference for structural planners in selecting the appropriate method for building design.
