Grit pada Siswa SMA Negeri 1 Barumun

Abstract

In high school students, grit plays a very important role because it will make them more diligent and consistent in learning so that learning goals are achieved properly. Grit is defined as perseverance and enthusiasm in achieving goals. The grit aspect consists of consistency of interest and perseverance in trying. This study aims to see the picture of grit in students of SMA Negeri 1 Barumun and was conducted on 278 students as a sample using the Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling method. The data collection instrument in this study used a grit scale consisting of 20 items. The data in this study used crosstabulation analysis techniques and were analyzed using SPSS software. The results of the grit category study based on age, the highest category is in the moderate category at the age of 16 years with a percentage of 22.3%. The results of the grit category study based on gender, the highest category is in the moderate category for females with a percentage of 36.3%. And the results of the grit category study based on class, the highest category is in the moderate category in class X with a percentage of 25.9%. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the majority of students of SMA Negeri 1 Barumun have grit in the moderate category with a percentage of 64.7%.
