dc.description.abstract | Sentang Beach is located in Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra. This study aims to analyze the community structure and abundance of mollusks (bivalvia and gastropoda) and their relationship with environmental parameters. The research was conducted over three months, from October to December 2024, at three sampling stations using purposive sampling. Sampling was carried out vertically and horizontally during low tide. The results showed that the mollusks identified consisted of 16 species, with Perna viridis as the dominant species at several stations. The highest abundance was recorded at Station 2 (184 ind/m²), while species evenness across all stations was relatively low, indicating dominance by certain species within the community. The relationship between mollusk abundance and environmental parameters, analyzed using Principal Component Analysis (PCA), revealed that current velocity, water transparency, depth, and pH showed a positive correlation, whereas temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), and organic carbon (C-organic) exhibited a negative correlation with mollusk abundance (bivalvia and gastropoda). | en_US |
