This research examines the critical discourse analysis in the news of Yahya Sinwar's appointment as the new leader of Hamas published in Al Jazeera Arabic media in 2024. The main purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the microstructure of semantic points in the news comprehensively. This research is a library research with a descriptive approach through qualitative methods, based on the theoretical framework developed by Teun A. Van Dijk. The results showed the existence of a microstructure of semantic points that included aspects of background, details, intentions, and presuppositions in the news released on August 7- 9, 2024 in Al Jazeera Arabic media. The conclusion of this study reveals that through critical discourse analysis on the news of Yahya Sinwar's appointment as the new leader of Hamas, it is identified that the news writer has a clear tendency to favor Hamas, as reflected in the choice of words and sentence construction used in the news.en_US
