Analisis Ujaran Persuasi dalam Pidato Xi Jinping Saat Perayaan Hari Nasional Republik Rakyat Tiongkok 中华人民共和国国庆日习近平演讲中说服力技巧句子的分析 (zhōnghuá rénmín gònghéguó guóqìngrì xíjìnpíng yǎnjiǎng zhōng quànfú jìqiǎo shǐyòng de fēnxī)

Abstract

Communist countries are inseparable from persuasive utterances as a means of demonstrating the authority, leadership, and legitimacy of those in power. This study explores the use of persuasive utterances delivered by the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, during the National Day celebrations of the People’s Republic of China. This research is qualitative in nature, with data sourced from the texts of Xi Jinping’s speeches during National Day celebrations throughout his presidency. The data consist of sentences containing elements of persuasion, collected through content analysis techniques. The findings of this study indicate the presence of 46 persuasive utterances across four of Xi Jinping’s National Day speeches. These persuasive sentences vary in form but consistently follow the following indicative patterns: (1) the use of collective pronouns, (2) the use of collective nouns, (3) the use of deontic modality, (4) the use of epistemic modality, (5) the use of figures of speech, and (6) the use of evaluative vocabulary.
