Malaria is a major health problem in tropical areas, therefore accurate parameters are needed to support early diagnosis whereas platelet count, Mean Platelet Volume (MPV) and Platelet Distribution Width (PDW) are potential predictors. This research is an observational study using a diagnostic test with a cross-sectional approach using retrospective data. Analysis using a 2x2 table was used to obtain sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, and accuracy of the diagnostic test depicted in the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve. The cut-off value of platelet levels of 100 thousand/µL as a diagnostic parameter for malaria infection, showed an accuracy value of 69.1%, sensitivity of 67% and specificity of 69.9%. The MPV cut-off value of 10.55 fL showed an accuracy value of 64.4%, sensitivity of 71.3% and specificity of 61.8%. PDW cut off value of 12% shows accuracy value of 66.5%, sensitivity of 68.1% and specificity of 65.9%. Platelet parameters (platelet count, MPV and PDW) have good diagnostic ability (acceptable) for malaria cases.en_US
