dc.description.abstract | Tanjung Rejo Village,located at Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, is one of the areas that has a fairly high bird population and one of the areas that act as a habitat for waterfowl, especially for egrets (Egretta spp.). This study aims to explore the knowledge and perception of the public about the egret (Egretta spp.), to identify the use of the egret (Egretta spp.) as ethnoornithological knowledge and practice in efforts to preserve birds also to find out the population density of the egret (Egretta spp.) at Tanjung Rejo village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra. Data collection in the field used by the direct interview technique method and was supported by filling out questionnaires by the correspondents. The results of the research found that the level of knowledge of the community in Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency about the egret (Egretta spp.) is generally relatively good. The perception of the community in Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan District regarding the myth of the egret (Egretta spp.) is relatively minimal, this is based on people who consider egractors as birds that have no value. As many as 26% of the community considers the egret as the incarnation of the queen of water and as many as 74% of the people in Tanjung Rejo village do not know about the myth contained in the egröt. The use of egrö by the people of Tanjung Rejo Village, Percut Sei Tuan District is not too significant, only 63% of the people consume egrets | en_US |
