Abstract
The development of digital technology continues to undergo a revolution year after
year, starting from the advancement of computers, the internet, the World Wide Web,
mobile applications, and currently entering the era of big data and artificial
intelligence. This technological advancement changes and influences various aspects
of society, industry, and nations.
This research aims to examine the impact of ICT, Innovation, E-commerce, and
Foreign Direct Investment on the economy of ASEAN countries from 2017 to 2023. The
study employs a quantitative approach, utilizing secondary data from seven ASEAN
countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and
Cambodia.
The results of this research, using a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) panel data analysis,
indicate that, partially, the ICT variable (X1) has a positive but insignificant effect on
the economy in ASEAN, while the Innovation variable (X2) and E-commerce variable
(X3) show positive and significant effects on the economies of ASEAN countries. The
Foreign Direct Investment variable (X4) demonstrates a negative and insignificant
impact on the economies of ASEAN countries from 2017 to 2023. Collectively, the
combined variables show a significant influence on the economies of ASEAN countries.
