dc.description.abstractThis study discusses illocutionary speech acts in the animated film Ibnu Al-Baitar episodes 1-3. The aim of this research is to describe the forms and types of illocutionary speech acts found in the film. The data source of this research is the animated film Ibnu Al-Baitar specifically episode 1 to 3, with a total duration of 37 minutes and 21 seconds, the data consist of utterances found in the film’s dialogue that contain illocutionary speech acts. A literature-based method was employed in this study. Data collection uses the listening method and note-taking technique, while data analysis used a referential matching method. The theoretical framework used is the speech act theory by John Searle and the classification of speech acts compiled by Wijana. The results of the study show that there are 31 forms of illocutionary speech acts, namely: assertives, directives, commissives, expressives, declaratives. In addition, two types of speech acts were found: direct and indirect speech acts.en_US
