Legal protection of maternity leave rights for women workers is increasing in the spotlight as women's involvement in the formal sector increases. Undang-Undang Nomor 4 Tahun 2024 tentang Kesejahteraan Ibu dan Anak pada Fase Seribu Hari Pertama Kehidupan provides an extension of the duration of maternity leave rights to six months and protection for female workers from termination of employment and guarantees for workers' rights during the leave period. The method used in this study is normative juridical with a legislative, conceptual, and comparative approach. This study contains an explanation of the regulation of maternity leave rights in Germany and Singapore to understand effective protection models in terms of labor law in various countries. Indonesia still has challenges in terms of law enforcement and work culture that has not fully supported gender equality. Strengthening implementing rules, increasing supervision, and consistent implementation is essential to protect the rights of women workers while encouraging the realization of gender equality in the world of work.
