dc.description.abstractThis study analyzes the thermodynamic performance of a laboratory-scale Steam Power Plant (SPP) using exergy analysis through Aspen Plus software. The main focus is to evaluate the impact of adding an economizer and air heater on system efficiency and exergy destruction. Simulations were conducted under two scenarios: without and with the addition of these components.The results show that integrating the economizer and air heater significantly reduces exergy destruction in the boiler (by more than 70%) and increases the exergy efficiency of each boiler from around 26% to over 56%. In addition, kerosene fuel consumption was drastically reduced by more than 55%. Although the economizer and air heater have low individual exergy efficiencies, their contribution to reducing the main thermal load makes the overall system more efficient. This study confirms that utilizing waste heat through the integration of auxiliary equipment can enhance the overall energy efficiency of thermal systems.en_US
