| dc.description.abstract | Tourism is a sector with significant potential to enhance the economy and welfare of communities, especially in areas rich in natural resources and culture. Ecotourism, as a form of sustainable tourism, offers an environmentally friendly approach and involves local communities in its management. This study aims to analyze community participation in the development of ecotourism at Pantai Sialang Buah, Teluk Mengkudu District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra.The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that community participation in the development of ecotourism is still relatively low, with varying levels of involvement at each stage of development, namely planning, implementation, and utilization. The community tends to be less active in providing suggestions and participating in organized activities, despite having significant potential to contribute.Factors influencing community participation include age, gender, education, occupation, and length of residence. This research is expected to provide insights for more inclusive and sustainable ecotourism development, as well as to encourage increased community awareness of their important role in managing local natural resources and culture. | en_US |
