Analisis Masalah Sosial pada Remaja yang Terjerat Judi Online Di Kelurahan Padang Bulan Kecamatan Medan Baru Kota Medan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social problems experienced by adolescents involved in online gambling practices in Padang Bulan Subdistrict, Medan. The research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of informants who are adolescent online gambling users. The results show that adolescents engage in online gambling due to social environmental influences, economic pressure, and easy internet access. The impacts include mental health issues, addiction, declining academic performance, and deviant behaviors such as lying and stealing. Online gambling has become a disturbing social issue that requires serious attention and intervention from families, schools, and the government.
