This thesis discusses the Japanese work ethic as implemented in the housekeeping division at Shigira Seven Miles Resort, Miyakojima, Okinawa. The aim of this thesis is to describe the concept of Japanese work ethic, which consists of the principles of kaizen (continuous improvement), ganbaru (working hard and never giving up), and omotenashi (wholehearted hospitality), as well as to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in their daily application. This thesis employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through direct observation and interviews with housekeeping staff. The findings indicate that Japanese work ethic values are concretely applied through staff training, daily routines, and a standardized organizational structure. Supporting factors include clear standard operating procedures (SOPs), intensive training, and a disciplined work culture. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include high workload pressure and a strong demand for perfection, which can lead to stress. The consistent implementation of Japanese work ethics has been shown to improve service quality, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction at the hotel.en_US
