Keanekaragaman Serangga pada Tanaman Cabai Rawit dan Cabai Hijau Keriting dengan Sistem Tumpang Sari di Desa Bulan Baru Kecamatan Simpang Empat Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

This study aims to determine the types of insects and their populations in Chili Pepper Plants and Curly Red Chili Plants with Intercropping Systems in Bulan Baru Village, Simpang Empat District, Tanah Karo Regency. Identification of insects in the Plant Pests and Diseases Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra which was carried out in July to August 2024. The method used was the trap method using the Purposive Sampling technique. by placing traps in 4 different wind directions and 1 in the middle of the planting area, the number of insects identified in the Chili Pepper field with intercropping systems was 8 Orders 20 Families, 22 Genuses, and 141 individuals. in the Curly Red Chili field with intercropping systems were 9 Orders 24 Families, 28 Genuses, and 134 individuals. In Chili Pepper Plants, the insect diversity index value H’ = 2.32, evenness index E’ = 0.75, and richness index R = 0.23 In curly red chili plants, the insect diversity index value H' = 1.7, evenness index E' = 0.5, and species richness index R = 0.18.
