Management of Nursing Care for Hypertension Patients by Implementing a Healthy Low Salt Diet in Siderejo Hilir Village, Medan Tembung District
Abstract
Hypertension is a condition in which systolic blood pressure increases more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure increases more than 90. Hypertension management is divided into two, namely pharmacological and non-pharmacological. One of the non-pharmacological treatments that is often used is to implement a healthy low-salt diet. The purpose of this senior practitioner is to determine the effect of implementing a healthy low-salt diet on 3 clients suffering from hypertension in Siderejo Hilir Village, Medan Tembung District. Based on the results of nursing care management for clients, there was an improvement in the physical condition of the client starting on the first day, especially the client's vital signs which were increasingly stable, the client felt relaxed, pain decreased, appetite increased, no more nausea and vomiting, no longer pale, the client was enthusiastic, weight increased, sleep quality increased, the client understood the concept of a low diet and had the desire to routinely implement a low-salt diet. It can be concluded that the implementation of a healthy low-salt diet can control the client's blood pressure and prevent problems that arise due to blood pressure instability. It is recommended to educate a healthy low-salt diet so that hypertension sufferers are motivated to routinely implement a healthy low-salt diet.
