dc.description.abstractIndonesia has a very high potential to be able to utilise various specialised plants that can produce vegetable oils by processing them so that they become renewable energy such as bioavtur which has the main use as a fuel supply for the aviation sector. Maximising the use of CPO is also one way to improve the Indonesian economy. The content of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) and triglyceride I-1 in CPO is very suitable to be converted into bioavtur. The Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) process involves the extraction of oil content from biomass feedstock. HEFA process consists of two reaction stages: hydrotreating reaction and isomerisation/selective hydrocracking which is usually referred to as hydroprocessing process. The plant is designed with a production capacity of 25,000 tons/year. The location of the plant is planned to be established in the Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra Province with the required land area of 27,232.92 m2 the number of workers required is 237 people with the form of business entity is a limited liability company (PT). Led by a director with a line and staff organisation system. The economic analysis of the bioavtur manufacturing plant from CPO requires an investment capital of Rp 635,523,767,027, production costs of Rp 369,270,937,485, PM of 29.20%, BEP of 26.82%, ROI of 29.74%, RON of 49.57%, POT of 3.36 years, and IRR of 29.38%. Based on the economic calculation analysis, it can be concluded that the bioavtur plant design from crude palm oil (CPO) through the hydroproccesed ester and fatty acid (HEFA) process with a production capacity of 25,000 tons/year is feasible to be built and profitable.en_US
