The Effect of Employee Engagement and Work Discipline on Employee Performance in the Department of Communication and Informatics of Medan City
Abstract
The performance results of government agencies are determined by the quality of
the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) working in them. The development and growth rate
of an organization cannot be separated from the role of the performance of each
staff and employee in each field. The purpose of this study was to determine and
analyze the effect of Employee Engagement and Work Discipline on the
Performance of the Medan City Communication and Informatics Office. The
population of this study was 48 employekes of the Medan City Communication and
Informatics Office. The sample used in this study was 48 employees. The data
collection technique in this study used a questionnaire technique. The data analysis
technique used descriptive analysis and linear regression analysis. Data analysis in
the study used SPSS 26. Based on the results of the study, it was partially shown
that Employee Engagement had a positive and significant effect on Employee
Performance, Work Discipline had a negative and significant effect on Employee
Performance. Based on the Simultaneous Test (F) the Employee Engagement and
Work Discipline variables have a simultaneous and significant effect on Employee
Performance. Based on the results of the Determination Coefficient Test of the
independent variables, the influence of the dependent variable is 31.3%.
