Analisis Wacana Politik Debat Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Calon Walikota dan Wakil Walikota Kota Sibolga Tahun 2024

Abstract

This research is entitled Political Discourse Analysis of the Regional Head Election Debate for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Sibolga City in 2024. The purpose of this study is to analyze the political discourse of the regional head election debate for the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates for the city of Sibolga in 2024. In this study, the researcher used a qualitative research method with a discourse analysis approach. The theory used is the discourse analysis theory put forward by Teun Adrianus Van Dijk about efforts or processes to provide explanations of a social reality that is studied with a specific purpose to obtain what is desired. Data were obtained through documentation and debate transcripts that were analyzed qualitatively. This study involved the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates for the city of Sibolga in the video of the regional head election debate for the mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates for the city of Sibolga in 2024 via social media YouTube as the subject of the study. Data were obtained through observation, documentation, and literature studies. The results of this study are the verbal discourse strategies of each candidate pair which were analyzed through macro, superstructure, micro, and non verbal communication analysis.
