Perjuangan Tokoh Anak-Anak Perempuan dalam Tiga Novel Seri KKPK (Kecil-Kecil Punya Karya) dalam Kajian Ekofeminisme

Abstract

This study aims to describe the roles and influences of young female characters on nature and the environment in three novels from the Kecil-Kecil Punya Karya (KKPK) series: Geng Penyelamat Alam by Aida Rizkiatul Zahra, Petualangan di Hutan Mangrove by Queen Aura, and Kemala the Underwater Princess by Dhaffina Al Zaskhia. In addition, this study aims to demonstrate that females, even from a young age are capable of thinking critically, taking real action, and possessing the potential to become agents of change in preserving environmental balance.These novels are analyzed using the natural ecofeminism approach, which emphasizes the emotional and spiritual connection between girls and nature. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method to present a comprehensive overview of ecofeminism. Data were collected using reading and note-taking techniques. The findings indicate that the young female characters in these three novels not only demonstrate a high level of ecological awareness but also take concrete actions to protect the environment. They play roles as protectors of nature and influence those around them, including friends, family, society, and even social institutions. Their struggle is driven by compassion, empathy, and a deep sense of responsibility toward nature, demonstrating that even young girls can become agents of change in addressing environmental issues. These three novels also reflect the functions of children’s literature as proposed by Burhan Nurgiyantoro, namely the recreational function, the didactic function, the aesthetic function, and the expressive function.
