    Abstract
    FertoMAX liquid biofertilizer developed by the Institue Oil Palm Research Institute (IOPRI) can be used to increase growth and to control pathogenic fungi in cultivated plants such as red chili plants (Capsicum annum L.). This study aims to determine the potential of liquid FertoMAX biofertilizer in several concentration to inhibit Colletotrichum gloeosporioides which causes anthracnose and to increase red chili plant growth. The study icluded in vitro examination of the antagonistic ability of FertoMAX fertilizer against C. gloesporioides. In vivo, FertoMAX fertilizer was applied to red chili seedlings grown on subsoil soil in a Randomized Block Factorial Design (RBFD) with 2 factors, i.e. FertoMAX concentration of 0%, 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% in infected and uninfected seedlings disease incidence, disease severity, and inhibitory effect FertoMAX against C. gloesporioides in chili fruit were observed. Plant performances was also observed. The results showed that FertoMAX Fertilizer might inhibited C. gloesporoides growth in vitro a concentration of 10-30%. It also reduce the incidence and severity of anthracnose disease in chili plants by 20% and 10%, respectively. Application of FertoMAX to the infected plants significantly affected growth performances such as plant height, number of leaves, and wet and dry weight. Application of FertoMAX seemengly increased growth of uninfected chili plant. Soaked chili fruit in 30% FertoMAX reduced disease infection indicated by diameter of anthracnose by 65% compared to soaked chili in water In conclusion it was suggested that FertoMAX might be potential as biofertilizar.
