Analisis Program Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) Bagi Pengembangan Kapasitas Mahasiswa FISIP USU Tahun 2023-2024

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the capacity building of students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of the University of North Sumatra (USU) through the Internship and Certified Independent Study (MSIB) Program in the 2023-2024 academic year. The MSIB program is part of the Merdeka Belajar policy launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, which aims to provide opportunities for students to develop their potential through learning experiences outside the classroom. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through in-depth interviews and documentation. The results showed that the MSIB program important improved students' soft skills, including communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. In addition, involvement in the program also helps students build professional networks and understand the dynamics of the working world. The conclusion of this study is that the MSIB program positively contributes to students' readiness to face challenges in the world of work, as well as improving the quality of graduates who are more competitive in the job market.
