Impacted teeth is a condition in the oral cavity where teeth fail to erupt properly,
causing part or all of the tooth to be embedded within the soft tissue of the oral cavity.
This condition often occurs with third molars, which typically erupt later. However,
many people remain unaware of this issue. Visualization of impacted teeth is still
predominantly limited to 2D media, such as illustrations and images. This study
employs Augmented Reality to display 3D visualizations of impacted teeth in the real
world, combined with Speech Recognition to facilitate interaction with the 3D objects.
The application is developed for Android devices and uses a marker-based method to
present the 3D objects. Voice commands are processed with the assistance of Wit.AI.
The purpose of this application is to enhance the visualization of third molar impaction
using Augmented Reality, combined with Speech Recognition to enable interaction
within the app. Based on the overall results of a questionnaire survey collected from 25
respondents, 92.5% agreed that the virtual objects and features functioned effectively.
Therefore, it can be concluded that the application can be used as an educational tool
for visualizing and introducing impacted teeth.
