dc.description.abstract | DANIEL SYAPUTRA SEMBIRING. The Use of Pupa Shell Chitosan in Rations on the Digestibility of Crude Fat and Crude Protein in Broiler Chickens (Supervised by EDHY MIRWANDHONO and MA’RUF TAFSIN).
This study aims to evaluate the effect of providing chitosan in rations on the digestibility of fat and protein in broiler chickens. Nutrient digestibility was measured using the ileal content collection method, by calculating the difference between the nutrients consumed and those excreted through feces. The results of the analysis showed that the provision of chitosan in rations significantly reduced fat digestibility, with the highest digestibility value in rations without chitosan (P0) of 79.07%, and the lowest value in rations with 0.03% chitosan (P3) of 67.73%. The effect of chitosan on protein digestibility did not show a significant difference, with protein digestibility values ranging from 71.80% to 79.34%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that chitosan is effective in reducing fat digestibility in broiler chickens, but does not significantly affect protein digestibility. It is recommended to use a dose of chitosan of 0.03% to reduce fat digestibility in broiler chickens. | en_US |
