    Abstract
Farmers' dependence on subsidized fertilizer is a growing phenomenon in Indonesia, including in Sirisirisi village. Fertilizer is a pillar of agricultural productivity because it isore affordable than non-subsidized fertilizer. This study aims to analyze the factors that lead to farmers' dependence on subsidized fertilizer in the Tesalonika Farmers Group in Sirisirisi Village, Doloksanggul District, Humban Hasundutan Regency. This study adopted a qualitative descriptive approach and employed data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants for this study were the village independent agricultural extension worker (PPS), members of the Tesalonika Farmers Group, and the advisor of the Tesalonika Farmers Group. The results of this study show that the factors that lead to farmers' fertilizer dependence consist of two aspects: economic factors and social factors. First, economic factors include farmers' low income, high agricultural production costs, fluctuations in crop prices, and attachment to subsistence agriculture. Second, social factors include the existence of mutual relations among group members and the existence of collective habits that create a pattern of dependence on government assistance.
