The Clarke and Wright Savings method is one approach used to solve the distribution
route determination problem, which is the problem of determining the optimal route
for vehicles from a depot to a number of customers. Distribution route determination
must be designed optimally to achieve efficiency in terms of distance and travel time.
Gudang Berkah Jaya Mebel is a privately owned company that is undergoing renovations to improve quality. Using a quantitative approach and Microsoft Excel-based
analysis, a simulation of distribution route determination was conducted using probability analysis. Distribution route determination must be designed optimally to achieve
efficiency in terms of distance and travel time. Gudang Berkah Jaya Mebel is a privately
owned company that is undergoing renovations to improve quality. Calculations using
the Clarke and Wright Savings method were able to save 19.5 km or 20.83% and can
save distribution costs by 16.05%. Sensitivity analysis using the Clarke and Wright
Savings method, which considers uncertainty in travel time by adding and subtracting
10 minutes, shows that the resulting route remains the same. Sensitivity analysis
produces the same route with the same efficiency as the Clarke and Wright Savings
method based on distance and travel time.
