The Influence of Job Crafting and Work Passion on the Quality of Work Life of Generation Z Employees
Abstract
Generation Z is often known as individuals who are innovative, creative and enjoy working in alignment with their passion. To optimize their quality of work life, proactive efforts such as job crafting supported by positive work passion in the workplace can be one option. This study aims to examine the influence of job crafting and work passion on the quality of work life of Generation Z employees. The research method uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, and involves 392 respondents through purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaires based on the quality of work life, job crafting, and work passion scale. The data analysis method used in this study is multiple linear regression. The results of the study indicate that job crafting and positive work passion each has a positive effect on the quality of work life of Generation Z employees, whereas negative work passion tends to have the opposite effect. Based on these findings, this study implies that companies should optimize the space and opportunities for Generation Z employees to engage in job crafting and develop positive work passion in order to support a more fulfilling work-life experience. Generation Z employees are also encouraged to be open to new strategies such as job crafting and to maintain a balanced drive in their approach to work.
