Along with the increasing needs of the community, the utilization of resources in coastal areas also increases, so that coastal areas are often converted into ports, ponds, and settlements. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of UAVs in monitoring the success of mangrove forest rehabilitation in Pangkalan Batu Village, West Brandan District, Langkat Regency. North Sumatra Province. The method used is the template matching method in the eCognition application to perform automatic seedling calculations and the ArcMap 10.8 application to identify the results of automatic and manual seedling calculations. The aerial photos obtained from the drone flying height of 60 meters were 195 photos with a flight time of 14 minutes, while the drone flying height of 80 meters obtained 108 photos with a flight time of 10 minutes. This study found that the highest percentage of accuracy in identifying mangrove seedlings automatically was at a drone flight altitude of 60 meters, which was 70.6%, while the drone flight altitude of 80 meters was 39.4%. The percentage of successful mangrove rehabilitation at 60 meters and 80 meters drone flight altitude has the same value of 100%. The utilization of UAVs in monitoring the success of mangrove rehabilitation has proven to be very helpful in calculating the number of mangrove seedlings that live from the beginning of planting and can assess the success rate of mangrove rehabilitation.
