One effort that can be done for efficient use of wood is to find alternative
raw materials to replace wood through the utilization of waste and other wood
substitute raw materials into useful products such as particle board. The demand
for particle board from year to year continues to increase along with the increasing
use of particle board in various sectors, especially the housing, building and
furniture sectors. The purpose of this research is to analyze the process of making
particle board with organic waste as the basic material in the form of cassava leaf
vegetables and a mixture of bamboo powder, as well as to evaluate the physical
and mechanical properties of OSW boards. This research was conducted at the
Forest Products Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Forestry, University of North
Sumatra. The board is made by mixing raw materials and spraying with Isocyanate
adhesive and then pressed with a hot press at 160°C for 10 minutes and a pressure
of 40 kg/cm². From the results of the tests carried out, the board with the best
physical and mechanical property test scores produced in this study was a board
made of belangke bamboo with a ratio of 50/50 and the board with the worst
physical and mechanical properties was the control board
