dc.description.abstractConsumer protection is stated in Article 1 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection, Consumer protection is "all efforts that guarantee legal certainty to provide protection to consumers." The problem discussed in this study are how the legal responsibility of culinary business actors who do not include food menu prices in the east Kisaran sub-district, how legal protection is provided for consumers who are harmed by the behavior of culinary enterepreneurs who do not include food menu prices in the east Kisaran sub-district. The method used in writing this thesis in the normative legal method by refering to secondary data in the form of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials with the method of collecting library studies (library research) as the main data and with the field research method (field research) in the form of interview guidelines as additional data. The research shows that the obligation to list prices is regulated by article 2 paragraph (2) of the minister of trade and article 7 number 2 of the UUPK, the form of civil liability is regulated by article 19 of the UUPK and in article 1365 of the civil code, , Administrative liability is regulated by article 60 of the UUPK and in article 9 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the regulation of the minister of trade. The form of preventife protection for consumers is the availability of regulations that require businnes actors to include prices on food menus, consumer education to create consumer independence in protecting themselves, coaching by government institutions/ agencies related to prices in restaurant businnes, supervision for businnes actors by goverment instution/ agancies, supervision by the community through LPKSM, repressive protection is consumer lawsuits through disupute resulation instutions outside the courts, and consumer lawsuits through litigation or through the courts.en_US
