    Abstract
Doxorubicin chemotherapy can cause neurotoxicity and cognitive impairment lead to brain cell damage. Gagatan harimau (Paraboea leuserensis B.L.Burtt) contains flavonoids and terpenoids with potential antioxidant properties to mitigate brain cell damge. This study aimed to analyze the effect of gagatan hariamau’s nanoherbal extract on improving brain morphology and histology in doxorubicin-induced male Wistar rats. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed with four treatment groups: TO (normal control), T+ (doxorubicin 0.0019 mg/kg BW nanoherbal), T125 (doxorubicin + 125 mg/kg BW nanoherbal), and T150 (doxorubicin + 150 mg/kg BW nanoherbal). Each treatment consisted of six replicates. The parameters observed were brain weight, brain volume, the number of neurons, damaged neurons, and Purkinje cells. Results demonstrated that the T125 group showed significant improvement (p<0.05) in brain weight, brain volume, normal neuron count, and Purkinje cell count compared to the T+ group. Additionally, T125 exhibited significantly fewer damaged neurons than both T+ and T150 groups. These findings indicate that 125 mg/kg BW gagyan harimau’s nanoherbal extract potentially protects the brain against doxorubicin-induced neurotoxic effects.
