    Abstract
The enactment of Law Number 6 of 2014 on Villages has opened a new space for villages to manage their economic potential independently, one of which is through the establishment of BUMDes. However, in practice, there are dynamics in the management of BUMDes that cannot be separated from local political interventions and complex power relations. This research aims to understand how power works in the management of BUMDes Bersama as well as how the practice affects the governance and participation of village communities. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data collection techniques used were in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The theories used include Local Politics and Regional Autonomy theory, Michel Foucault's Power Relations theory, and Good Governance theory. The results show that although BUMDesa aims to improve the welfare of village communities through collective management of economic businesses, local political intervention changes the function of this institution. Political actors utilize BUMDesa as a means to gain political support by directing facility assistance to farmer groups that support them. This practice causes BUMDesa to lose neutrality and reduces community trust in the institution. On the other hand, BUMDesa management becomes less transparent, with decision-making dominated by certain parties, without inclusive involvement of all elements of the community.
