This study explores the Mbaba Kampil tradition in the traditional wedding ceremonies of the Karo community, with a focus on intercultural communication. Utilizing Social Identity Theory as the theoretical framework, the research analyzes interactions among individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and examines the values embedded in the Mbaba Kampil process. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation. Findings indicate that Mbaba Kampil is not merely a ritual, but a strong symbol of cultural identity that reinforces bonds between families of differing cultural origins. The ceremony functions as a cultural bridge, connecting differences between the Karo community and partners from other backgrounds. Despite challenges such as language barriers and differing cultural understandings, values such as respect, responsibility, and mutual appreciation foster harmonious relationships. The Karo community demonstrates significant adaptability without compromising its cultural identity. Mbaba Kampil remains relevant and appreciated by the younger generation, serving as a means of preserving cultural identity. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of cultural identity dynamics and intercultural communication within the context of traditional marriage.en_US
