    Abstract
Oil palm is the main source of vegetable oil and the largest foreign exchange earner for the country, but there are growth constraints in the TBM phase due to the presence of weeds, especially Eleusine indica. One of the efforts made is using ammonium glufosinate and glyphosate herbicides, but long-term use can cause resistance in Eleusine indica. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of ammonium glufosinate herbicide against Eleusine indica around oil palm plants with glyphosate herbicide as the comparison. This research was conducted at Rambung Estate Serdang Bedagai in October 2024 to January 2025, using a non-factorial completely randomized design, consisting of 6 treatments, namely control, ammonium glufosinate (450g b.a/ha), ammonium glufosinate (450g b.a/ha + Unison 0.2%), ammonium glufosinate (580g b.a/ha), ammonium glufosinate (580g b.a/ha + unison 0.2%), glyphosate (1080g b.a/ha). The results showed that ammonium glufosinate (580g b.a/ha) and ammonium glufosinate (580g b.a/ha + Unison 0.2%) treatments had a significant effect on the level of poisoning and the percentage of Eleusine indica death. The application of glyphosate (1,080 g b.a/ha) had no significant effect on all observed parameters.
