Kandidasi PDI-Perjuangan pada Pemilihan Wali Kota Medan pada Pilkada 2024

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze how the candidacy process and the motives used by PDI-Perjuangan in determining candidates in Medan City in the 2024 Pilkada. This research aims to find out how the candidacy process is carried out by the party and to find out the motives used in the candidacy process.determining candidates in the Pilkada. The research method used is a Qualitative Method that produces analytical procedures. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with several informants, namely the Chairman of the PDI-P DPC. PAC Chairman, PDI-P SUMUT Faction, and Medan Deputy Mayor Candidate who has a coalition with PDI-P. Data analysis was carried out thematically, namely recording, collecting from the results of information so that data analysis aims to simplify in a form that is easier to understand and interpret. This analysis is also by describing and interpreting the results of the research with a series of words and sentences as an answer to the problem under study. Data analysis techniques are used, namely through data reduction procedures based on data that has been collected from field notes by summarizing the results of interviews, then the display stage (presentation of data) leads to the data presented being adjusted to the information obtained and data verification as the last stage in analyzing data. The findings obtained by the researcher that the candidacy stage to determine the mayoral candidate carried out by the PDI-Perjuangan has not been fully democratic, only a few series have been carried out democratically in the candidacy process.
