dc.description.abstract | This study examines the historical development of the University of Gunung Leuser (UGL) in Southeast Aceh from 2011 to 2016. The objectives of this research are to explain the establishment process of the University of Gunung Leuser in Southeast Aceh Regency in 2011 and to describe its development during the period
from 2011 to 2016. The research employs the historical method, which involves the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were
collected through literature review by analyzing sources such as books, previous research, and university archives. Additional data were obtained through interviews with individuals knowledgeable about the history of the University of Gunung Leuser. The key concepts applied in this study include development,university, the University of Gunung Leuser, and Southeast Aceh. The findings indicate that the University of Gunung Leuser (UGL) was established in 2011 in Southeast Aceh Regency with the aim of improving the quality of education and producing competent human resources in various fields. The establishment of UGL was driven by the need for higher education institutions that could address regional development challenges, particularly in the areas of agriculture, engineering, and management. From its inception, UGL has offered several undergraduate
programs, including Agrotechnology, Civil Engineering, Biology Education, Sports Coaching Education, Management, and Accounting. The university also established four faculties: the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), and the
Faculty of Economics. Between 2011 and 2016, UGL experienced significant
progress, marked by increases in student enrollment, academic programs, andavailable facilities. | en_US |
