dc.description.abstract | Modern construction projects face increasing complexity, highlighting
issues of inefficiency and potential inaccuracy in material quantity calculations
using conventional methods. This research aims to compare the efficiency and
accuracy of Quantity Take Off (QTO) between the Building Information Modelling
(BIM) method using Archicad 28 software and conventional methods. Utilizing a
hypothetical project as a case study, this research adopts a comparative
quantitative approach. Quantity data for structural (coloumn, beam, and slab)
were calculated both manually and automatically using Archicad 28. The results
indicate that using Archicad 28 for the QTO process significantly improves speed
and accuracy compared to conventional methods, reducing the potential for human
error and providing more consistent data. Nevertheless, initial BIM adoption
requires an investment of time and resources for training and adaptation. These
findings suggest that BIM with Archicad 28 is a superior solution for project
quantity management. For future research, it is recommended to expand the case
study to larger-scale real projects, consider factors such as interoperability between
BIM software, and analyze the overall impact of BIM on project management,
including cost and time aspects in greater depth. | en_US |
