dc.description.abstract | This research is entitled “News Coverage on the Infrastructure of the 2024 National Sports Week in Aceh-North Sumatra (Framing Analysis on ANTARA News Online Media)”. The
purpose of this study is to examine how ANTARA News frames news related to the
infrastructure of PON XXI 2024. ANTARA was chosen due to its status as a state-owned
media with a distinct approach in delivering public issues. The study uses a qualitative
descriptive method with framing analysis by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki,
covering syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures. Five news articles from
ANTARA News during the PON coverage period were analyzed. The findings show that
ANTARA News tends to highlight positive narratives by quoting government officials and
minimizing criticism. The framing is constructed through diction choices and structured
narratives that build an optimistic impression of the event. This suggests a tendency of state
media to support the government’s image. | en_US |
