Pengaruh Foreign Ownership, Pemanfaatan Tax Haven, dan Tax Uncertainty terhadap Praktik Thin Capitalization Pada Perusahaan Multinasional Yang Terdaftar Di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) Periode 2019 - 2023

Abstract

This study aims to provide empirical evidence on the influence of foreign ownership, tax haven utilization, and tax uncertainty on the practice of thin capitalization among multinational companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2023 period. This is a causal research study that draws data from multinational firms listed on IDX within the specified timeframe. The sampling method used is purposive sampling, resulting in 55 companies that met the research criteria, with a total of 275 observations. The findings reveal that Foreign Ownership has a positive and significant impact, as does Tax Haven Utilization, which also shows a positive and significant influence on thin capitalization. In contrast, Tax Uncertainty demonstrates a significant negative effect on the practice of thin capitalization among the sampled multinational firms.
