    Abstract
This research is entitled "The Self-Concept of the Strawberry Generation Among Generation Z Students at the University of North Sumatra." The theoretical framework used in this research includes Communication Psychology, Interpersonal Communication, and Self-Concept. The study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The aim is to analyze the self-concept of Generation Z students from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts at Universitas Sumatera Utara, focusing on three main components: self-image, self-esteem, and ideal self. Data were collected through in-depth interviews using purposive sampling and snowball sampling, and data validity was tested using source triangulation. The study involved five primary informants and one triangulation informant. The findings reveal that the self-concept of Generation Z students is complex and shaped through interactions with reference groups and significant others. The analysis indicates that social and academic pressures tend to influence self-image and self-esteem, while also creating a discrepancy between their ideal self and actual circumstances. Nevertheless, in general, the self-concept of Generation Z students from the 2020 and 2021 cohorts shows a positive tendency.
