Medan Creative Hub with Modern Building Approach
Abstract
Medan City, with its rapid population growth and complex social dynamics, faces the challenge of increasing rates of juvenile delinquency and criminality. One of the efforts to overcome this problem is to provide a creative space that can channel positive energy and creativity of teenagers productively. This research aims to design a Creative Hub as the center of the creative industry in Medan City, which not only serves as a forum for the development of creativity, but also as a means of preventing juvenile delinquency in causing criminality. By adopting a modern architectural approach, the Creative Hub design is expected to create an inspiring, collaborative, and inclusive environment. Through literature studies, comparative studies, analysis of the existing conditions of Medan City, as well as surveys of creative industry players and teenagers, the conceptual design of Creative Hub will be designed. The results show that a design that incorporates important spaces and facilities that support various creative activities can be attractive to teenagers and encourage their active participation in positive activities. The findings suggest that the Creative Hub not only contributes to the growth of the creative industry in Medan City, but also has a strategic role in building a better character of the younger generation, as well as reducing juvenile delinquency and crime rates.
