This research discusses the analysis of intrapersonal communication in shaping self-confidence in female victims of body shaming in Medan City. Body shaming experienced by many women causes significant psychological impacts, including decreased self-confidence. This research aims to explore how intrapersonal communication, such as self-talk and self-reflection, plays a role in helping individuals overcome the negative impact of body shaming. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. The theories in this study use social construction theory, symbolic interaction theory, and self-objectification theory. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 5 key informants, as well as triangulation from experts in the field of clinical psychology. The results showed that the informants experienced various forms of body shaming that affected their self-confidence and mental health. However, by engaging in positive intrapersonal communication, they were able to reshape their confidence and change negative mindsets. This study provides important insights into the important role of intrapersonal communication, family support and self- acceptance in dealing with social pressure related to beauty standards. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for the development of more gender- sensitive programs in educational and community settings.
